I was contacted by a Brazilian author (my country of birth) with a request to craft an illustration for the cover of her forthcoming book. Following several meetings and comprehensive briefing sessions, I opted for a design approach that would be elegantly simplistic yet distinctly unique.
Consequently, I conceived the idea of utilising a sunflower as the central motif, a flower renowned for its symbolism of growth, self-empowerment, and its alignment with the author's personal brand identity.
Initially, I executed a preliminary design in shades of orange, subsequently adapting it to incorporate the author's preference for yellow tones, as per her recommendation. Upon delivering the final illustration, I also created a mockup for the book cover. To my pleasant surprise, the author decided to utilize my entire body of work as the cover art for her book
