I'm Ayleen, an illustrator and surface designer, but honestly, I'm more than just my job title. I'm a soul in motion, on a journey of self-discovery, forging connections, and relentlessly pursuing my goals. If my mind can conceive it, I can create it.
Born in Brazil, I once took a bold leap to the other side of the world—Australia. I arrived there with no knowledge of English and no acquaintances, but I was certain it marked the start of a new adventure and a fresh chapter in my life. I'd always dreamt of strolling down streets, clutching a take-away latte (a rarity in Brazil when I left), speaking English, and living overseas. To this day, I am still amazed when I realize that my life unfolds entirely in English, akin to watching a movie without subtitles.
My journey as an illustrator commenced long before my Australian trip. Back in my hometown, I had the privilege of collaborating with renowned brands like Fabio Bartz and Colcci. However, upon my arrival in the "land down under," I had to shift my focus towards mastering the English language and sustaining myself financially. Regrettably, this meant temporarily shelving my illustrations. Yet, my purpose burned brighter than any obstacle. During a visit to Taipei, Taiwan, I stumbled upon an art gallery showcasing the work of a French illustrator. Leaving the gallery, I promptly headed to an art supply store, purchasing sketchbooks, pencils, and pens. I was back in action!
Now, I reside in Bath, UK, with my husband and our son. This country has sculpted me in myriad ways, and I cherish the newfound version of myself. I invite you to explore my work in pattern design, illustration, animation, and a touch of photo illustration—welcome to my Illustrated world.
